Verizon Wireless

Mobile Telephone Switching Office
Branchburg Township, New Jersey

verizon

Constructed in 1995 in Branchburg Township, this Mobile Telephone Switching Office (MTSO) is an integral part of their East Coast cellular network. Housing both employees and switching equipment critical to cellular operations, this 30,000 square foot complex has become a significant addition to Verizon Wireless’ infrastructure. The Reynolds Group was instrumental in the initial design and development of the site. Continued involvement has included the expansion of the complex including construction of an onsite microwave/cellular tower and the 17,000 square foot switching station currently under construction.  Unique environmental conditions necessitated the delineation of onsite "exceptional resource" wetlands and coordination with The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). This included verification of wetland boundary lines and the approval of the required Transition Area Waiver- Averaging Plan.
